A few years ago we talked about the importance of experiencing joy. Joy is one of those emotions that can catch us by surprise. It fills us with extreme happiness and sets our body, mind and spirit aglow.
This time of year many of us are under pressure, from work, home and life’s challenges. Our stress level rises, impacts our sleep and mood and makes us less tolerant and resilient. It may seem counterproductive but a little “time out” can help to stop the downward spin and bring back a healthier perspective.
This month take a few moments to reflect on things for which you are grateful. Gratitude helps reduce anxiety and stress. It has been proven to help us sleep better and increase our self-esteem. Feelings of gratitude can segway into joy.
Taking time to relax and unwind is beneficial for our body, mind and mood as well. When we relax, our muscles release tension, our blood pressure lowers and our emotional state improves. Treat yourself to little “recuperative breaks” this month and enjoy the benefits of a happier state of well being.
We wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season ~ Happy, Healthy and Joyful!
